A.V. Broadcast are pleased to offer Technical Consultancy Services to clients in Ireland planning to apply for 30-Day Temporary Radio Broadcast Licences or 100-Day Pilot Community Broadcast Licences, as issued by the BAI. This consultancy work comprises of five parts; two pre-application and three post-application.
As we pride ourselves on the quality of our work, it is our policy to provide a transparent service, with no hidden costs, so that the work carried out by A.V. Broadcast can be fully appreciated by our clients.
Part 1: Pre-Application, On-Site Phase
The first day is based at the customer studio location. In the event that a client is planning to operate a link system, (for transmission of the audio signal from the studio to the FM transmission site), or multiple FM transmitter locations, each additional site is allocated one day, and is costed on our reduced rate for non-profit making/charity/religious groups of €250 (ex. VAT) day rate (+ travel + accommodation, if applicable).
Services include carrying out detailed site surveys, measurements and information gathering, allowing coverage modelling and technical data to be produced for the technical application process. This will include spending time with the client to advise and obtain information relating to the application.
Also carried out in this phase is a detailed survey of the building and antenna installation requirements, (in co-ordination with our antenna installation contractors), so that an accurate quotation can be produced for installation during the post-application stage.
Part 2: Pre-Application, Administrative Phase
This involves the completion of the technical document sections of the BAI application form, including antenna propagation and coverage modelling based on the previous day(s) investigations, and verifying A.V. Broadcast Ltd. as the Certified Transmission Installer on behalf of the licence applicant. This work is charged at our reduced rate for non-profit making/charity/religious groups of €250 (ex. VAT).
Note: Parts 3 & 4 only commence on successful issue of Licence from BAI
Part 3: Post-Application, On-Site Phase
The post-application service covers the installation of the antennae, (mountings, cabling, etc, in-line with separate installation quotation), and installation and commissioning of the broadcast transmission/link equipment. It also includes ensuring that technical parameters are set up in accordance with licence conditions and BAI regulations. Each site is allocated one day, and is costed at our reduced rate for non-profit making/charity/religious groups of €250 (ex. VAT) day rate (+ travel + accommodation, if applicable).
During this process, a detailed range of technical measurements are carried out and recorded, including spectrum analysis, (harmonics, spurious and interference measurements), deviation measurements and quality/performance checks.
Part 4: Post-Application, Administrative Phase
This stage of consultancy involves the production of detailed commissioning/handover documents, including site survey information and photos, measurement and analysis plots and sign off from A.V. Broadcast Ltd. that the installation and operation at point of handover complies in full with BAI licence conditions and regulations. A copy of this document will be sent to the client and to BAI on completion. This work is charged at ourreduced rate for non-profit making/charity/religious groups of €250 (ex. VAT).
Part 5: Closedown & Decommissioning Phase
The final stage of consultancy involves our engineers visiting the broadcast transmitter site(s) at the end of the broadcast period, and disconnecting broadcast systems from live service, in accordance with regulatory conditions. This work is charged at our reduced rate for non-profit making/charity/religious groups of €250 (ex. VAT) day rate (+ travel + accommodation, if applicable).
